In July 2004, Chu Kee College successfully established an additional Chu Hai College in accordance with the Hong Kong Post-Secondary Institutions Ordinance to offer two locally recognised Associate Degree degrees and seven accredited Bachelor’s Degree programmes, and in October of the same year, it was approved by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR in council to confer degrees, taking a step towards the path of a private university and opening a new page for local higher education.
The College was granted land by the Education Bureau in June 2009 for Tuen Mun East (adjacent to Old Coffee Bay). It was also approved by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for interest-free loans. The new campus building is located on the shores of The Green Peak Bay in Tuen Mun in a tranquil and scenic environment, allowing staff and students to enjoy a better campus life. The school building offers a variety of modern and spatial design and facilities to accommodate a variety of different purposes such as teaching, learning and research.
