Cyprus Citizenship by Investment Program

Program Introduction​

In accordance with Section 2 of Chapter 111 of the Citizenship Registration Act 2002-2015, the Government of Cyprus has adopted and amended the Naturalization Scheme for Non-Cypriot Investors. The Cypriot Government grants Cypriot citizenship and passport to investors who contribute to the economic development of the country, and investors can obtain citizenship and passport of the country directly through the Cyprus Citizenship by Investment Program.

The Cyprus Citizenship by Investment Program grants Cypriot citizenship and passport (EU citizenship and passport) to wealthy persons who invest in Cyprus. Investors with EU citizenship can live, work or study in 26 EU countries. Having EU citizenship also allows you to live, work or study in AN EU member states.

Application Prerequisite​

  • 2 million euros (14.14 million yuan) + taxes, plus 150,000 euros (1,060,500 yuan) donations
  • Property portfolios can be divided into:
    • 1 Purchase of a dwelling and hold it for a minimum of 3 years; After 3 years, if you resell, you must buy a house worth a minimum of 500,000 euros (3.535 million yuan).
    • Purchase of multiple residences and hold them for a minimum of 3 years; After 3 years, if resale, a minimum of €500,000 must be kept
    • Purchase of multiple residential and commercial properties, or only commercial properties, an additional residential property with a minimum value of €500,000 and holding the above property for a minimum of 3 years; After 3 years, if resale, a minimum of €500,000 must be kept
  • No asset requirements
  • There are no additional application conditions

Application Procedure

  1. An application for a Cyprus Investment Scheme has been submitted to the Ministry of the Interior. No need for an applicant. The application of the main applicant, his spouse and children is submitted at the same time.
  2. The Ministry of the Interior and Finance examines the application for naturalization and submits it to the Council of Ministers for approval.
  3. At least six months after the application has been approved and a permanent residence permit has been provided, the application process for Cypriot citizenship is completed.
  4. In accordance with the above provisions, the Ministry of Civil Registration and Immigration issues a certificate of naturalization after paying the fee for the issuance of the certificate of naturalization.
  5. Subsequently, the applicant will need to confirm his beliefs in the Republic of Cyprus with the Registrar or Consular Officer of the Court of Cyprus.
  6. In addition, applicants need to visit the Civil Registry or immigration department or embassy (if possible) for biometric identification so that passports can be issued. He also has the right to apply for the issuance of a Cyprus identity card at the local Home Affairs Office.
  7. Cyprus passport is issued within 1 day and Cyprus identity card is issued within 7 days.
