Applicants must meet all of the following basic qualifications:
1) Age: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older when submitting their application under the Program.
2) Financial requirements: Applicants must demonstrate that they can single-handedly support the life and accommodation of themselves and their dependents (if any) during their stay in Hong Kong, without relying on public assistance.
3) Good character: Applicants must not have any criminal offence record or bad entry record in Hong Kong or elsewhere.
4) Language Proficiency: Applicants must have good Chinese or writing and speaking Skills in English (Chinese Spoken Mandarin or Cantonese).
5) Basic Qualifications: Applicants must possess a good academic qualification, generally required to have a university degree from a recognised university or higher education institution. In exceptional circumstances, good technical qualifications, demonstrable professional competence and/or experience and achievements that can be accompanied by supporting documents may also be taken into account.
If an applicant fails to provide credible supporting documents demonstrating compliance with all of the above basic qualifications, his/her application will be rejected immediately and will not be processed further.
Applicants who meet all the requirements of the “Basic Eligibility” can choose to be assessed on the basis of the “Integrated Scoring System” or the “Achievement Scoring System”. There are six scoring areas under the “Integrated Scoring System” and one scoring category under the “Achievement Scoring System”.
Applicants who pass the integrated scoring system need to score more than 80 points above the passing score; Applicants who pass the achievement scoring system must meet any of the following
A.) The applicant has received outstanding achievements (e.g. Olympic medals, Nobel Prizes, national or international awards)
B.) Applicants can demonstrate that their work has been recognized by their peers or that they have made significant contributions to the development of their sector (e.g. receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the industry). Those who meet any of the above conditions will receive 225 points
“The spouse or the other party to a same-sex civil partnership, same-sex civil union, “same-sex marriage”, opposite-sex civil partnership or heterosexual civil union concluded under the laws in force in the locality, and that status is a legal and officially recognized note of the local authority, and unmarried and dependent children under the age of 18 coming to Hong Kong
Applicants for a dependent visa/entry permit must fill out an application form
