Vanuatu is made up of 83 islands. Of the 83 islands, 14 cover an area of more than 100 square kilometres, with the two largest islands being Espírito Santo and Maracula, accounting for nearly half of the total land area. The capital of Vanuatu is Port Vila and the largest city in Vanuatu, located on Edi Island and Luganville. Most of Vanuatu’s islands have high mountains and volcanoes, the highest of which is the Bwe Massana Tower in Saint Espiri, which is 1879 meters high.
