Shuren College was officially registered as a post-secondary college in 1976 and named Shuren College. On 19 December 2006, Shue Yan College was approved by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government in Council of the Hong Kong Sarco under the Post-Secondary Institutions Ordinance (Cap. 320) as the first private university in Hong Kong under the Chee Yan University of Hong Kong (HSU). In the spirit of the School Motto, Ren Ren Museum, Yan University promotes benevolent education, cultivating students with excellent knowledge and skills while also becoming benevolent gentlemen.
As The first private university in Hong Kong based on Confucian values, Hong Kong Shue Yan University is committed to teaching and research excellence in the spirit of serving the community, and actively promotes a personalized and continuously improved campus learning experience to prepare graduates for future careers.
